Morning Mugs ~ Adding a bit of ‘sunshine’

Hot chocolate is my favourite way to start the day, but I really like to mix up how I drink it.

Some days I use a powdered mix while other days I turn on the stove and warm a pot of oat milk.

It’s super cold here, so hot chocolate is a must and lately I have really been enjoying heating up my oat milk on the stove as I too, warm up at the same time. Then I usually toss in some bits and pieces of chocolate and stir gently as they melt into the warm oat milk and create a delicious blend.

Lately I have been adding some salt, pepper, and turmeric powder. It sorta gives it a cozy vibe and maybe a hint of the yellow sunshine we are missing so much lately.

Just a hint of yellow on grey winter days makes me happy.

So, if you are not sure what to do to make your boring hot chocolate a little bit less boring try adding a tiny pinch of salt, a bit bigger pinch of pepper, and about a ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder. Then froth with a hand held frother for a bubbly texture. With luck it will keep you cozy and warm, and bring a bit of sunshine into your day.

Be warned that the turmeric will stain things, so be careful!

Have a chocolatey day!
